I don't know why women put up with patriarchal bullshit. Though I suppose it has to do with physical strength unfortunately. If I was a woman, I wouldn't stand for it, and I'd be a lesbian.
Physical strength shouldn't be an issue anymore. Mary Winkler put a sack of lead in her preacher husbands back for his sins.

I guess it boils down to brainwashing and blind faith.

I have a friend who is a practicing christian and things like this are a sore subject between us, because he knows how I feel about organized religion as a whole.

When a local reverend was busted for molesting an exchange student that lived at his house, I found that my friend let his daughters go to that churches youth programs in the evening.

What's going to be really funny is when we find out Westboros, Phred Phelps is Phucking some of the children in his congregation.

Jerry Fartwell died before we found out about those malaysian boys he liked so much.

As surely as the hand of God wrote on a wall in that temple, we can see the writing on the wall of the temples of injustice and of weirdo Latter Day Saint cults. One word only...MONEY.

Unless we will step forward as a society of reasonable and ethical people and declare, “ENOUGH OF THIS BULLSHIT,” we will get more of this bullshit.

Unless we will step forward as a society of reasonable and ethical people, we are going to spend a fucking fortune, pardon the pun, ensuring that no asshole’s rights are violated. Oh, I know we’re gonna spend a fortune protecting the children...our favorite pastime after damaging children...but it amounts to protecting Assholes.

It is my experience in my country that we protect Assholes for two reasons: because we are afraid of them and/or because they are sources of bounty.

Rather than scrambling to spend a fortune figuring out how to un-do what we just did...in other words, to return those girls to the mini madrassas from which they came, let us focus on the mothers.

I recall a conversation with the assistant coach of a midwestern university that specializes in the basketball sector of Big Business College Sports who was in Los Angeles recruiting. Recruiting for the Big Business of College Sports involves sucking up to the parents.

“The Moms have all the juice,” he said.

Consider, too, Solomon threatening to cut that baby in half...HE knew how to get to the Truth.

Contrast Solomonic wisdom and effectiveness with this except from the Salt Lake Tribune: “...living conditions at the shelters became harsh Sunday when CPS confiscated the women's cell phones and forced even the smallest child to pass through a metal detector.”

Not that! Please tell me we have not devolved into such callousness that we would strip women and children of their cell phones. Telecommunication Torture, what next? Make them sleep in their own beds?

As surely as Solomon’s threat to resolve a custody dispute by cutting the baby in half got that job done, charging the mothers of FLDS children with child endangerment will get this job done, quickly separating the Holy from the Unholy Rollers and positioning the latter in the Justice express lane.

Who has not shed superfluous items in order to exit via the express lane?

We do not need to know every oddity about a cult. Immersing the whole country in their bullshit is like immersing the whole country in Stacy Petersen’s murder or Britney Spears’ mayhem. It is ratings and profit playing to prurient interests...long on show, short on substance.

The men of the cult will never change.

The women are another story, I suspect. Some, no different from Silda Spitzer and Hillary Clinton, will stand by their man cum what may. One certainly hopes that, if push came to shove, other mothers would stand with the children who are not bending others to their will but, rather, are being bent.

We need only declare that push is come to shove.

Moralizing aside...because ours is a society that keeps moralizing on minutiae on the front burner and sets aside Morals that are transgressed by moneyed men...there is a practical fiscal reality to consider.

We are long aware of the deep pockets of the Catholic Church. But now we have also seen the land ownings of the FLDS. In the same way that I very much hope that the Pope is paying for his own considerable security detail, I hope that FLDS will foot the staggering legal bill that its creepy activities inspire.

When they need more money, let them turn to Salt Lake City with the same confidence that American Catholic dioceses turned to the Vatican for a war chest in defense of child molestation.
