Will they be letting Sinead have a go at him?

PS I have it on good authority that Barney and Miss Beazley
are Presbyterians.

Did you watch the ceremony? I've never seen such a display of ass kissing in all my life.

Did you notice the way that his limo pulled in? The whole arrival seemed staged.

I thought his comment about how his presence in America will make us all shit sunshine was fucking asanine.

Who is paying for the former Nazi's sizable security detail...the church that pays no taxes, or the American taxpayers?

Baloney.

There were people, including Germans, who did NOT become Nazis. Hence, the Resistance.

Intuitively, if anyone would have both the vision and the strength to resist the temptation of a path of least resistance but greatest ill, I would expect it to be a man who would later ascend the ranks of high-unto-highest holy office.

I suggest that it is not possible to go too far with a former Nazi who, from the most influential pulpit in Christendom, declined to take a hard line against child molestation when child molestation was determined to have been perpetrated AND perpetuated by his own clerics.

And I suspect that every one of those victims and their families will agree with me.

Can anyone wrap their minds around a child, perhaps yours, being sexually molested by the figure for whom you taught your child to have both greatest respect and complete submission?

If God there be, the One whose Son said to bring the children unto Him, He is not pleased.

A Catholic spokesperson on the radio made clear that this Pope never attends such functions.

All the party-planning will have been done with either

1. knowledge that the Pope would not be in attendance

or

2. the left and right hands being clueless about each other's activities.

Even IF the CLEARLY fallible Pope attended, it would be an inappropriate spectacle in light of company policy about separation of church and state.

Since he would NEVER have attended, it becomes an even more extravagant waste.

I wanna know who's footin' the bill for this folderol, because it sure as HELL shouldn't be overburdened American taxpayers.

It is small wonder that our Boy Wonder King flocks to an even Higher Highness. The Pope's astonishing hide-in-plain-sight strategery must be the envy of neoconservatives everywhere.

There's nothing behind my back...Look, over there!

The Pope says that one of the great challenges facing the church is to re-establish the Catholic identity which, he says, is "not so much about external things."

He says this after a higher-than-head-of-state reception, while sitting on a veritable throne, wearing a quilted white satin robe with gold trim and what appears to be fur lining, with the world and an elaborate gold brocade mantel draped upon his shoulders, and the mother of all rings upon his hand.

Papal Bling is directly contrary to the claim that the Catholic identity is not about external stuff. Right there, pow, in the kisser...the hypocrisy couldn't be more clear. It is too outrageous and too bad to be believed, therefore good Catholics accept it as "the way it is."

Just like good Americans accept the blatant bullshit in American politics.
