Is This How Stonehenge Was Built?

I don't know if you guys have seen this before, but this guy single handedly demonstrates how easy it is to move massive Stonehenge size blocks around without any sort of modern equipment. Perhaps this is how Stonehenge was built.

neat, but it doesn't answer the part of stonehenge that appears the most difficult....getting the horizontal blocks on top that span the vertical ones....

It looks like they could have raised the horizontal slab higher and higher just using blocks of wood, as was demonstrated in the video. Granted, it would have been a little tricky to slide the top piece over without crushing someone below.

Not if they raised the center/top first, supported it and then moved the sides in......

Pretty slick, impressive....

That's pretty fascinating to watch. When you consider it was one guy doing it then it's not hard to imagine a lot of people constructing a Stonehenge.

I believe there's a NOVA documentary about how the Easter Island stone heads were moved and raised that's basically also simple and requiring only stone age technology. One of the reasons Easter Island no longer has trees is because of human beings, as is true of Iceland. All that wood got used up for one purpose or another, and not because they didn't care, but because they didn't know the problem of sustainability.

Yes, and it was a complete waste of a whole day.

That's a good theory about the horizontal slabs. I wonder if they got off knowing that their accomplishment would probably baffle future civilizations for centuries to come.
