damn pop-up ads

is there any way to stop those ads that are layed on top of the text you are trying to read? drives me crazy. they are not exactly pop-ups i guess, not a new window

I just asked our tech guy, cause he also set up my home computer, and I never get pop-ups. He said the web browers, Explorer/Firefox, will stop them unless you go to "sketcy" websites.

i use explorer, but i always get them on the MSN website. i may have answered my own question

Usually they will have a little X or "close" icon on them...

I don't know if there is anyway to stop it....maybe if you quit visiting so many porn sites that would help?

if they were porn ads, would i be complaining?

they happen on the MSN homepage. i am guessing explorere will stop them on any page except a microsoft page.

i have seen ford and smirnoff ads 5 million times now
