Ehh! I doubt there's much beyond a handful of genes left over in their find. It was just enough to prove a dinosaur-bird connection.

The woman on the show identified the dinosaur-bird (chicken was the closest relative) connection, the sex of the Rex and I think that they partially sequenced it (whatever that means).

Sequncing DNA means knowing the exact order of aminoacid base pairs: ATTGCGTAGACGT etc.

Yeah - I've seen The Cave - and I prefer not to think those kind of creatures are in this ocean.

But this is fascinating news - the planet earth can be a very mysterious place.
