Im using a USB based Broadband internet connection. There are no extra ports in the back of the little Broadband box. Will I need a router to get around this and if so how do I use it. My other problem is my PS3 is upstairs in my room and the computer is downstairs in the back room. A wire all the way through the house is not exactly what I had in mind.

when I switched to the hd cables into my hdtv..I noticed a big difference. The regular connections do look good, but the detail is off the charts when you switch.....(especially 1080 wow)

Nope I imagine youll need a wireless router... the ps3 is pretty easy to set up for it.

wait though...no ethernet conn on your modem? hmmmm.

(my wireless is hooked to my modem via ethernet)

Im not very techy when it comes to this stuff. The USB Broadband Box has 2 ports, one goes to phone line and one goes to back of PC. What will a wireless router do to rectify this conundrum ?...

so the conn from modem to pc is a phone line conn?

...you might try to lobby your internet provider for a modem w/ ethernet

Im using a SAGEM 800-840 DSLMON that came with it. The two ports in the back of it go to the Wall and the other to a USB Port on the back of the PC.

hmmm.

I do know the ps3 has usb connections.maybe you can connect that way....I'd consult your ps3 manual.

I might take a trip to the local computer store and ask the uber-nerds in there about it. I might upgrade my existing package with my ISP and demand a router of some sort for this problem.

i'm convinced. i think i'll get the ps3 with the spiderman 3 blu-ray and rock band in one fell swoop. i'll get the ps3 tiger woods next year and stick with the tiger woods ps2 version i have now.
