You could try really giving the power button a good mashing on and off.

Sometimes they get wonky. Because they're not used very often (power saver and screen savers).

It's a low tech shot in the dark but I've seen it work before.

If it's powering on and off, it could be the power cable. Try another one.

Monitors usually use the same power cord as a PC. The weird one with 3 prongs and one that is very flat.

Make sure it's seated in there good. I've never seen a monitor that didn't have a lose fitting power cord. But I'm sure you've tried that already too.

Monitors usually go slowly. Mines been acting up for months, with spurts of red and globs of color (gun going bad).

It could have this power problem for months before it finally goes.

It's awful to have to spend the money on a new monitor, they aren't cheap.

Where are your speakers located and how big are they? Do you have a big bass speaker? The magnets in those are notorious for messing up monitors.

i have had issues with my monitor too. i finally found that the power cable was slipping out. it was quite heavy and the prongs would not stay in. i had to use twist ties to wrap around the other cables. problem solved

Yeah, the small amount of space it takes up is striking. Also, optical mice FTW!
