They're only going to fly upto the 100,000 meter mark of what constitutes "space" and only for a four hour flight from takeoff to landing.

It's a start. Air flight and automobiles were once the domain of the wealthy. What Branson is doing is taking that initial hit in order to drive down costs for spaceflight thereby accelerating the comercial enterprise of it.
