Yeah, think you can name a star or something also....
It is good to see some positive events going on.
The Name a Star a Scam figures - thought there was more to it than that, I take it back.

that's too bad about it being a scam...i always thought it sounded romantic to name a star after someone...but yeah, if you're into surprising your girlfriend with stuff like that, you can always buy some quality paper at officemax and make your own, she'll probably never know the difference...

please don't tell other members of my gender i suggested boyfriends can dupe them with romance wrapped in fake stars

It's not a scam. Only an idiot would think they were seriously going to name a star after you for $49.00 Every one of those sites make it plain....it's a novelty gift.

of course it's a novelty gift, but it's not at all presented like one, people who don't pay attention to such things would seriously think they're getting a star named after someone...if there were some kind of disclaimer about not actually being able to name a star, then i would agree, it's not a scam...

It says right on the front page:

International Star Registry star naming is not recognized by the scientific community.
Your stars name is reserved in International Star Registry records only.

This is the number one "Star" gift site called Star Registry.
