I don't think it matters (believing if we contribute to it or not).

Even if we had a nearly limitless supply of oil, and there wasn't even the hint of global warming, we should be working towards the goals of Global Warming advocates.

Cleaner more renewable energy sources.

While cheap energy prices do drive economies forward it's been proven that a decent economy while not using this economic function can exist and flourish.

Iīd love to subscribe this in, say, 30 years from now. The fact is, bargains aside, oil age is ending. Say goodbye to plastics, premium fuel, etc. Of course the first ones to figure it out and come up with another viable alternative will be us americans. Or maybe not,... who knows if Nepalīs scientists and businessmen (never ever try to unstick one-another these days) will rise with a brilliant neat and simple solution before we ever notice it. Donīt think so,....but would be cool.

Once we find the political will to attack this problem, it will be the thing that brings our economy back and our debt down.

Ponds that I skated on every winter as a child, simply don't freeze anymore; haven'g in 20 years.

A couple days ago I watched a documentary at one of these science TV channels, about how the chinese have been replanting-reforresting the north east territory as apparently the Gobi desert is invading hundreds of miles year by year, it even is getting close to Beijing they say. Well these guys have been fighting the issue ever since 1978. Not that I am a commy, but it sure makes you think of who really fights this damn excess of garbage we all are throwing.
The communist government has only done a few token gestures on it themselves, so don't think they're that far ahead. Also, there have been states which started abiding by Kyoto and cities as well. You got Bloomberg creating a coalition of U.S. cities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions below what Kyoto requires.
