Aerotecture Those helix designs are cool ..... I suspected that they would cause a problem with the air flow if they were on the deck of a sail boat, not to mention be in the way. Watch out for that starboard tack..... Layered woven fabric - salt would be a problem, forgot about that, it gets everywhere. Wonder if salt water could be part of the power production solution, a process not requiring consumption of additional manufactured materials.

Actually, wondering......
Rather than fabric, use the solid sails The Soft Sell on Hard Sails.... shucks found this Patent... Was thinking of two solid sails on each side of a shaft that contained a helix turbine, a slight "V" with the turbine at the vertix. When the wind caught the sails the derived force would travel vertically through the turbine and horizontally along the sail..... Combination chimney effect, turbine and sail..... Oh fuck this is way cool..... Volitan, the Flying Fish - Futuristic green concept boat ![]() I WANT ONE........

That's frakin' bitchin'!
It's exactly what we've all been working towards in our ideas. Solid sails powered by wind AND solar. Now if they could just make it and get me one pronto, I can take to the seas like Cosner in Waterworld . |

Design Nobis runs through the plans in their animation. It would be nice to know the scale, whether the "sails" have the surface area, whether they would build a model for the not so rich..... this site downloads a whole bunch of details, cool.... man interior also, they put the batteries in the keel as ballast, damn the the whole interior appears to be living space, turbines are in the underwater wings...... cool.... it has girls on it....
They did break from the vertical, like the wing idea.... Shame I dont have the money to play......
