    Eleven democrats voted against it.

Well, you know democrats, always thinking for themselves, deciding what's best on their own instead of just taking their marching orders from above.

i actually agree with the dems that voted against it FOR THE REASONS THEY DID.

it doesn't contain enough public works/infrastructure funding.
it should be focused like a laser beam on infrastructure which would create more jobs in the private sector than anything else.

those public works programs would contract private companies - who would hire and that's precisely what we need - to put our construction workers back to work and make a lot more jobs in that sector of the economy that would last for many years, to replace the lost work due to the over development of housing.

we have a glut of housing and no money to buy them.

not only would rebuilding our infrastructure create construction jobs, it would create a massive number of tech jobs to develop, install and maintain things like affordable home-based alternative energy and a massive smart grid, etc.

The Senate will be interesting, the democrats will have to be unanimous in addition to picking up a few republicans.

Kramer was on MSNBC yesterday claiming the package won't be enough.

    It's a start.

So now will you admit that since it looks as though the plan will be implemented, Douche Limbaugh's wish for Obama's failure isn't just an ideological quarrel but a wish of failure on America because Obama won the election? That rightards truly hate America when it doesn't live up (or in reality, down) to their expectations?

It would be enough if it was spent correctly. Right now it is a fiasco. 500 billion should be going to infrastructure projects that the states have on board somewhere waiting for funds. Literally, people could be working by spring. But they won't. It's a total fuck up and I am sorely dissoluted in "Change"

i think you may be reading just a tidge more into her response than is warranted... but even so, your main point, regarding limbaugh and their general attitude towards losing to someone like obama is probably dead on.

their basic belief is: fuck the country if we can't run it!

people (republicans and democrats) will like to see that something is finally being done, something tangible.

if the republicans keep this up....when jobs do start to roll into states...it will be the democrats that will be thanked. Jobs talk and bullshit walks.

I'd actually prefer a bipartisan show of support....but it's never going to happen.

to bad for the repubs....the dems need little help now

Oh believe me I know it's almost pointless to try to argue with a member of the right wing Borg, but I'm trying to make Minty's head explode. And yeah, righties actually hate America because it isn't the shining city on a hill, it's big, messy, complex and soon NON WHITE (this is where they gasp in horror). And you know that the reality of Obama winning is pissing off so many of them that they'll just act like cornered rats, that's what Douche Lymphnode is doing right now.
