"American Torture . . ." Then it's got a bunch of pictures of our troops being kind with snarky captions.

FUCK IT PISSED ME OFF! I sent EVERYONE who had received or circulated it whose address was listed on my email thread this response:

Mr. Fusby, did you start this viral email? What a bunch of right-wing extremist, motarded idiocracy. I never realized how many arrogantly ill-informed people there are in this country.

Did you know we picked up a 14 yo kid, based on an informant in Afghanistan who was KNOWN to be full of crap, and held that child at Gitmo for 5 YEARS?!? During which time he was TORTURED?!? A kid who not only knew nothing, but during the time he was supposedly training at an Al Qaida training camp, HE WAS AN 11 YEAR OLD SCHOOL BOY IN ENGLAND!!!! And he's not the only innocent child we did this to!

SO PLEASE DON'T USE OUR TROOPS TO DEFEND THESE ATROCITY. I served in the military, along with all 4 of my brothers. I was BORN on a military base, and I don't know one military person who isn't disgusted by these "enhanced interrogation techniques" and Gitmo. In fact, it's the military who fought the hardest to stop both. This is against EVERYTHING we believe in as a people and everything our Founders fought for us to be.

*breathing . . . * Okay, rant done. I just really get PISSED OFF at these viral propaganda emails that perpetuate lies and play to the most ignorant and ill-informed, sound-bite voters in our nation. This crap is ruining our country, and the far right is playing its red-team base for a fool.

We have 100s of TV channels and access to all the information on the planet a click away on the web, and people are STILL allowing themselves to be kept in the dark, living in some alternate reality where truth and facts are bendable. It's astonishing and heartbreaking.

I hope you will consider TRUTHFULNESS when you circulate emails in the future. TRUTH MATTERS!

I know of some folks who are getting chain letters that are all warm and fuzzy with christianity AND stars and stripes. The idea being either you are a good christian, or your not American. Those things PISS ME OFF to no fucking end.

Some people WANT a war between ideoligies.
Some people think modern conflicts are ALL about Christian VS Muslim.

I tend to think the religious right is really squirming now, they need as many butts in the seats as they can get. This is just the cyber-manifestation of the door-to-door watchtower crew, only now they don't even have to beg your indulgence for the 10 minute screed. Even scamming for parishoners has been streamlined for the maximum message- minimum of effort crowd these days...

I have a job, not sure what that has to do with anything, but I agree with you on the rest. Funny thing is, not one of the 25 or so people I emailed my response to even dared reply. I guess I scared them.
