Keith Olbermann debuted a new and recurring segment on his show tonight called "Countdown's WTF Moment." The first WTF moment centered on Miss California Carrie Prejean, who was thrust into the public eye after she expressed opposition to gay marriage during the Miss America pageant. (Donald Trump, the pageant owner, said in a press conference today that Ms. Prejean would be allowed to keep her crown despite the fact that several racy and previously undisclosed photos have come to light.)
Olbermann expressed astonishment at Ms. Prejean's claim that Satan was trying to tempt her when Perez Hilton asked her the question regarding gay marriage, cast a dubious eye on her claims to have been betrayed by the photographer who snapped the semi-nude photos, and rebutted her statement that her free speech rights have been attacked and that she has been punished for taking a stand.

Does anybody really think that these pictures were meant to be porn? It looks to me that they are a select number of shots where there was a nipple slip while she moved into the next pose. I would guess the photographer may have even taken hundreds of pictures during the shoot. Are there any pictures racier than this?

I can see where they wouldn't want a repeat of the Vanessa Williams/Penthouse fiasco, but these pictures are nothing.

If there is any reason to strip her of the crown, it is only that she may be participating in non-sanctioned interviews and activities while serving her reign. But even then, I can't imagine that every beauty pagent winner since the 80's has ever held a perfect reign, no matter who they represent.

Honestly, Perez Hilton is about the most disgusting human on the planet and I wouldn't be surprised if he did ask his questions solely to ruin her chances of winning.

Miss Rhode Island did a photoshoot for Maxim. her pics were very similar to Prejean's, minus the nipple. the only reason people are pissed is because Prejean gave an honest answer to the question.

I agree with you as much as I disagree with Prejean. She may be a bigot, but she answered the question without lying. And, as it should be pointed out, the same way most of the voters in the state she "represents" voted on Prop 8.

I hear the former Miss Nevada is pissed off because her crown was stipped because topless photos of her were revealed from when she was 19, years before she was Miss NV. Her take on this is that Miss CA.'s pictures were worse because she posed for them, as opposed to her pictures being taken while partying in real life.

That should be the WTF article to be used as a followup, that somehow someone thinks that drinking underage and taking off clothes in public is better than going to a modeling shoot where the photographer had some nipple shots buried in the shoot.

What's the surprise and scandal here: A beauty pageant queen allowed herself to treated as a sex object - before she allowed herself to be used as a sex object?? Oh the humanity!

In all fairness, which is a joke in most beauty pageants, they should have had all the top 5 or however many there were at the end, answer the same question. Then they could have more acurately judged who had the best answer. It's too subjective to have each girl answering different questions.

Miss California might have given a better answer to a different question, and won the contest.

She was smart and articulate and she told me that she competed in Miss USA, she was relegated to a semi-finalist because she told the organizers she didn't really want to be Miss USA. She would have been an excellent choice for someone with a perfect balance of beauty and brains.)

The rules say that there must be no nude or semi-nude photos in existence. That's obviously impossible for someone to know for sure, and if the pictures I posted are the only type out there, I really don't even think they qualify as semi-nude. I've seen more nipple in celebrity photos as they bend over on red carpets.

Unfortunately though, the most disgusting purveyor of celeb-smut, who happens to be gay, is the one who asked her for opinion. The answer is going to piss off half of the people who heard it anyway. It was a purposely posed question that was decidedly inflamatory. When answering the questions in the pagent, it's not about the answers, it's about how you handle yourself when you answer them.

Should they only be asked how they're going to save the world or cure disease and supply butterfiles for all the little children?
