Palin nowhere near ready for prime time

(CNN) – A week after a high-profile uproar with comedian David Letterman over the late-night host's joke about her daughter, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is again sharply responding to the appearance of her children in the public sphere.

Palin's latest response comes after liberal Alaskan Blogger Linda Kellen Biegel doctored a photograph of the former Republican presidential candidate with her 1-year-old son Trig, who suffers from Down Syndrome.

Yes Sarah, people are going to post doctored photos of you or you and your family, that's what happens when you are in the spotlight.

This woman doesn't have it in her to be a public figure.

so she now thinks she is an iconic figure of a mother's love for a special needs child and therefore immune to all the bullshit other politicians have to put up with?? (like having your opponents supportors depict you as monkey)

Her buttons are easily pushed. People are mean man, as soon as they see her caving to something like this they are going to triple their efforts. The best thing she can do is shut the hell up and take things in stride, nobody would've even known about this fucking picture if she didn't blow a gasket. Her ploy here will not work because every time she speaks out in her bitchy little voice, with her body all tightened up like she's trying to drop a deuce people see her for who she really is.

Man, conservatives sure do like having it both ways... She built a soapbox out of those kids in 2008.

I'd have to agree that kids, especially special needs kids should be off limits for anybody except comedians, but Palin aggravates the situation by using them as props and harping about every jab that is aimed at her, through them. If this is the only way she can define herself publicly and politically, she'll stay in Alaska and since she's this emotionally and intellectually stunted, it's where she belongs.

if you read the link EM provided the photo had nothing to do with her kids and everything to do with a right wing radio guy (who's face is pasted on Trig's body) - but don't expect her to understand the subtlety - or any of here supporters. they will be chasing this blogger down with pitchforks and torches yelling "burn the witch" before the week is out.

I can see this both ways. You really do need thick skin to be a politician. Especially a GOP politician in these not-so-GOP friendly times.

But how thick of skin do you need? Shouldn't your disabled kid and your minor daughter get some immunity?

There is a fine line between political humor and hitting below the belt. If that line is crossed, you can expect a backlash. Like the one Letterman experienced.

She knew damn well that Letterman was aiming at Bristol in that joke but she used 14 year old Wllow, who actually accompanied her to the ball game in NY and then implied that Letterman, a 60 something year old heart surgery patient, couldn't be trusted around young girls. She's every bit as mean as the people who satirize her but completely unfunny, unless of course she's not trying to be.

If she is going to piss and moan about every little blogger out there photoshopping then she in for a long battle.
