I've decided to put this up on a trial basis for a little while. It's at the bottom of the main forum page.

This is great Eric. I think even if we don't manage to work it into appropriate public use, we should keep it working for staff. Would be great to chat about site issues in real time - a quick huddle as it were.
As for public consumption, that is something that we dabbled with on RV. We never made it available for general use - only during discrete and announced hours when we brought on guest "speakers" - and used the chat for q & a and follow up. I was concerned that chat might supplant the threaded conversation, and didn't want that to happen. I imagine that is one of your concerns too??
Arrogance is nothing to brag about.
It won't let me chat! It keeps giving me an error message saying that a chat is being processed.![]()
You say I'm a Bitch like it's a bad thing.
We can now slap each other around by typing in:
/slap uname username
So for example to slap me it would be this (exactly):
/slap uname evilmonkey
All it does is puts up a little message saying you backhanded the person but it's all colorful and stuff so it makes it funner!

You can also slap people using the drop down menu on the left side of the chat window. Click on the little down arrow graphic as in the attached graphic and choose the "Slap this user" menu item.
