how many super delegates will endorse obama today?

i'm going to guess 5 or more!

hillary has cancelled ALL of her scheduled TV and public appearances today, and word is, she will be meeting with a group of her super delegates to access their support, or lack thereof.

there's also talk that wesley clark called her last night and told her it's time to quit.

We've just been told that General Wesley Clark, a strong Clinton supporter and fellow Arkansan, called Hillary tonight to tell her it's over.

In addition to our source, the king of the pundits, Mark Halperin, drops a tantalizing hint that something might be up with Clark:

"The biggest question: Will any of her supporters (including Wes Clark) say publicly or privately she should quit?"

We like General Clark here at AMERICAblog, and have a bit of a history with him. So we hope what we're hearing is true. But the general better watch it - this could be his most dangerous mission to date. When you take on the Clintons, the sniper fire is real.

This Week's ratings have been way down ever since the
ABC debate. The ratings for Russert's interview with Obama
Sunday were about ten times as high as the ratings for ABC's
George and Hillary lovefest.

I hope his career is ruined. "Does Jeremiah Wright love America
as much as you do?"

Seems to me that Clark has played a low key role in the campaign for the last month or two. Sure, he made a lame attempt to support the Clinton on sniper-gate, but that's what a surrogate does.

I still maintain Clark would make a great Veep for Obama (or Clinton, but of course, she's lost.) He's a southern White guy with strong military cred, and experience (for better or worse) with presidential political campaigns, and it would be a nod to Clinton supporters to put him on the ticket.

that would be a disaster if he said something stupid, and quite frankly, he's a loose cannon.


i think there are others who would be even better...
and less risky.
i haven't always agreed with his judgment,
and he can be wreckless.

richardson would bring in the very important latino vote!
he's never done, or said, a thing that i personally disagree with.

I can't quibble with Richardson, other than to note their radically different styles. Talk about diametric opposites!
