Ralph Beard
Died 11/29. He was 79.
He was a major factor in the University of Kentucky's national championships in 1948 and 49 and the Olympic gold in London with Adolph Rupp as coach. He was the school's first 4 time All SEC player. He played in the very first all star game of the NBA in 1951. The next year he was convicted of point shaving and banned for life from the NBA. He said he took $700 but never shaved points.
