Joe Shmo the computer tech guy? - well, he might not make the front page, but still animal abuse/ killing? - prison. ....And he'll probably do more time than someone who can afford REAL representation.

Fame can have some lasting consequenses, no doubt about that. ...And hell yes, I think it comes with some responsibility as well. Many times.. (perhaps unfairly),..it's responsibility in the form of a camera UP YOUR ASS constantly. Just ask Britney about that shit. hehe

But, since it's no longer about the dogs and only about Vick being a, what is it again, Refuge, "prison bitch"? By all means, keep the jokes rolling.

Excuse me? 20 minutes? WTF are you talking about?
when did I say anything about being a "prison bitch"
He deserves to be punished for killing and torturing animals.
Most of the citizens of this country are struggling just to get by and I am supposed to feel sorry for a dog killer who threw away an NFL career? Give me a break..

The guys got millions and this is what your outraged about?

Oh, I'm obsessed with you, alright. Obsessed with how transparent your agenda is, regarding your posting in the sports folder, and obsessed with mocking it at every turn. Guilty as charged.

Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to
someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.
So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the end.

It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant
Even your gender and skin colour will be irrelevant.
So what will matter?
How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.

What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident.
It's not a matter of circumstance, but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.
A cookie for anyone who can tell me what this has to do with Michael Vick or his punishment...

A cookie for anyone who can tell me what Refuge's actual reason is for posting this tear jerker.

Ah, Fuck it. I'll give you the answer. To make sports fans feel guilty about what Vick did, and the fact that sports fans, in general, care more about their teams winning than they do animals being abused by athletes on their favorite teams.

I've got a poem for you, Refuge:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Everyone has moved on from Vick
It's time you did too.

Bow wow wow.

You just can not resist the sanctimonious lectures, can you?

I already told you, save it for someone who looks to you for your moderate liberal wisdom. I'm not one of them.

It's official. This was only about Vick for 5 seconds. Immediately, Refuge parachuted in with her usual mantra, riddled with race bating (yet not "enticing", thank you..more like. "enciting") quips and sociological rants. Now, it's fucking poems, or boring song lyrics. Whatever the fuck. Who cares, really.

Then, I try to interject some objectivity into the discussion, only to be peppered with moderate liberal law and order lectures and accusations that I'm defending Vick. I'm not defending Vick. I'm mocking the sudden outrage over dog fighting in light of Vick's arrest. Put it back in your collective pants and pull your zippers back up. False alarm. There is no defense of Vick on this thread. Just extreme mocking of hypocritical idiots, and one miserable soul who seems to think that sports fans in general are to blame for this, which is why she lives in this sports folder like the troll she is, yet to discuss anything sports related that doesn't have to do with Michael Vick and the few people who decided to form thought out opinions before sounding off with their, "hang the thug" response.

I doubt very seriously ANYBODY here is looking to me for wisdom...
At what point am I feigning righteousness, or being hypocritical here? ..just making comments. ...But... Whatever you say, slick. I guess I'll just turn my back on threads whenever you show up....kinda like when someone farts in a room....(check please).

...good luck with your "rebellion" or whatever it is you got going there...

Hey SNS maybe most of us don't want Vick in jail, but there has to be another punishment which I believe should be intense counseling and education.
It isn't all about black culture as you try to define and excuse it :
http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer...ty_dogfighting

excerpt:Q. Why do people get involved in dog fighting?

There are many reasons people are attracted to dog fighting. The most basic is greed. Major dog fight raids have resulted in seizures of more than $500,000, and it is not unusual for $20,000 - $30,000 to change hands in a single fight. Stud fees and the sale of pups from promising bloodlines can also bring in thousands of dollars.

For others, the attraction lies in using the animals as an extension of themselves to fight their battles for them, and demonstrate their strength and prowess. However, when a dog loses, this can cause the owner of the dog to lose not only money, but status, and may lead to brutal actions against the dog.

For others, the appeal simply seems to come from the sadistic enjoyment of a brutal spectacle.

And, good luck with your moderate liberal law and order grandstanding whenever someone dares make any objective point on a thread about a black athlete gone bad that doesn't sign off with the rest by calling for a Main Street lynching.

If you really read these threads? You'll see that I care about those dogs more than anyone here. Refuge? Pfft. Shit. This has been about Vick for months now. She forgot this was even about dogs. These days she's telling us how Vick's behavior is NOT due to his upbringing. She knows this not by studying Vick's life, but because she just simply says so, and you can't argue with that educated logic (perhaps one of her dogs told her??).

Then, in a desperate need to make a race bating comment, she accidentally lets it slip that perhaps Vick was raised in an environment where dog fighting was the norm, by saying, "his mama didn't teach him better". Of course, as soon as I called her on her bullshit she immediately snapped back into her ideological lockstep and flopped back over to "his upbringing had nothing to do with it. He was just bored, woke up one morning in his mansion, and decided after hitting the mall for some new bling and kicks he'd kill himself some dogs".

She's actually smarter when she lets her inner racist shine. Yet, of course, she reveals she's a racist in the process. She'd be much better off if she muzzled herself.
