I'll give the little squirt some credit, now that he's gotten into his first tussle.

Ference isn't a flower either,Sid got out of that one lucky, but he made his own luck by throwing a lot of punches.

IMO, that's the perfect hockey fight for the Kid. Ference can be a royal pain in the ass and get under your skin. Sid wanted some respect and possibly a little more room in the corner, so he has a go with Ference.

Believe me I'm no Crosby fan, but I'm he scored a point in my book last night.

I like Crosby a lot.

He's quite obviously the most talented player in the league (given his age). It's not his fault the nhl has made him their poster boy and there's such a big spotlight on him.
The guy is carrying the entire nhl on his shoulders, and he's handled it incredibly well for a teenager.

Oh I agree he's got talent.

I don't dislike him because of the role the NHL has placed on him. Even dislike is too heavy a word, I just not a "fan". I just enjoy, respect and admire the more traditional North American style player. Which he is obviously a hybrid of that, but one fight isn't going to endear him to many Boston area fans.

He's a marvel to watch and has guts for a guy his size, but he's not what the NHL should be promoting. I think they've tried to apply the individual stardom method of player worship as a marketing tool, but is not a reflection of how the game is actually played.

IMO (and I could care less actually if the league is never or not nearly as big as any of the other majors), they should have promoted the history, ruggedness, and some what lawlessness of the league. But maybe that's because those are the things that I love about the league.

Fuck Cindy "if you touch me, it's a penalty" Crosby. He is a whiner, he has always been a whiner, and he always will be a whiner. He takes dives, too. If he wants to fight, he should at least take off his face shield. I know Ferrence also wears one, but the reason Ferrence drew blood was because of the face shield.

he does bitch a lot, but so does every goaltender in the league, especially the Oilers' Dwayne Roloson. that guy complains about everything. i do like Crosby's scrappiness. he doesnt run and hide when he gets whacked. i thought he would fight Kovalchuk last year when he was getting clipped all the time

Some players are like that, and I'm not crazy about it. But I think it's more personality then lack of character.

Mark Savard, is always chirping at refs. At first I hated seeing anyone in a spoked B looking like he was complaining. But after a few seasons I noticed he's yapping at everything and everyone. It's just the way he is. On the bench he goes on and on after he's done with his shift.

Plus he's our best playmaker by far, so I kind of let him slide. ;-).
