Cool... I wonder where are waterfalls in MI. You can rent those rafts if you don't own one, no?

White water rafted the Colorado and White River in WVa, think that was the spelling. Lots of fun, took my girlfriend to the WVA once she did not have so much fun because the paddler behind her kept hitting her head with their paddle handle - dont think either of them could get in sync.
Would like to try a real kayak, rather than the canvas one I built as a kid. Do you have problems righting yourself if you flip the kayak ? Just imagine flipping and smashing ones head into a rock in one of those rivers.....

Depends on the kayak...... Once you been paddling you will adjust to any boat...... Tipping is not an issue... Most ppl think it is as they visulize a round bottom white water kayak. They are designed for turning on a dime & power moves.......... Flat water kayaks (I have have 30 + pound salmon on) are much more stable as are sea kayaks..... I have 2 types. One a flat bottom built for an adult & one small kid...... The other is more of a keel in front & back similar to this one....... ![]() It tacks we easy & as you paddle you adjust w/ each stroke..... I kayaked today 3 miles. I ws going to do 10 put it was over casted & we sun loving Nor Cal ppl chill easy..lol I have gone in fog, rain etc. Just not feeling it today...... Now is the time to buy a used kayak.. Creggslist usually has great deals. A decent paddle's can be had also........ Get an off set as they will give each stroke more power.........
