The New York Mets (redux)

Spring '08

Paul LoDoca is gone.

Johann Santana is on board?

Two disappointing years in a row.

February 26th - Exhibition v. U of Michigan

February 27th - Detroit

February 28th - St. Louis

Spring is right around the corner.

i'm so mad at santana right now

i've been a twins fan for as long as i can remember, they've got a great reputation for building from the ground up and creating some very fine ball players...problem is, their payroll is near the bottom in comparison to everyone else so when these players get good, off they go...same goes for torri hunter too...grumble, grumble...

grumble

Funny, we thought we would have to give two arms, a leg, and David Wright for Santana.

I hate to deal prospects, but I'm psyched about this deal...

It was lack of pitching that cost us in the end last season...this is a great step. I can't believe it!

Poetrychic......Gonna leave this brokedown palace...........

well they traded him for practically peanuts and this is no guarantee that he will be signing longterm with the mets(GREAT deal 4 Mets anyway, IMO!) ....so maybe he will be back in the american league next year pitching for the team he loves....GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!

FOX Sports on MSN - MLB - Source: Santana's total deal exceeds $150M

The Mets locked up Santana for the next seven years, signing him to a six-year, $137.5 million extension on top of the final year of his current deal, which is valued at $13.25 million. The total value of the package is $150.75 million, making his new average salary more than $21.5 million — a record for a pitcher on a long-term contract.
