the edmonton-vancouver game on saturday was crazy. i lost track of how many fights and line brawls there were. 230 minutes in penalties, i think 59 of them in the last 2 minutes of the game

and vancouver won. an edmonton defenceman put the puck in his own net a brutal giveaway by edmonton sealed their fate in the third perios

you know, despite the loss, I was happy with what I was seeing.

First off, was Lappy putting Lidstrom to sleep with a beautiful board check. (it sucks that his knee got fucked up though.)

Then there Lappy and Downie going to blows, and the first coaching screaming insult exchange since Marc Crawford and Scotty Bowman!!

...Just get me to the playoffs with some people back healthy.

Then anything can happen.

..But the great thing is, at least its beginning to smell like a rivalry again...(if we can only put the puck in the net)

...boy pre-recording is great when that happens...fast forward is pretty sweet when youre down 4 goals.

Think so? There really isn't that mentality here...that anybody is trying to be a star. We've got $5 mill in cap space....so we can pick somebody up...especially since those Avalanch thugs() took out lindstrom we could use some depth in defense though...
